Strong. Independent. Courageous. Adelita is the name given to the women warriors who fought during the Mexican Revolution. Brave women who held their ground and stood up for their rights. Adelita & Moi is a tribute to these women. And to the Adelitas of today: women who embody feminine strength and inspiration. Who take each day as it comes and tackle challenges with humility and grace. Confident women who know their worth and are unafraid to take risks.
At Adelita & Moi, we believe it is important to understand our roots – to know where we come from – in order to fully embrace who we are. The clothes we sell are made in Mexico and feature traditional hand embroidery sewn by women in the Chiapas Highlands of southern Mexico. These women play an important role in their communities, standing firm against the passage of time to keep their Mayan heritage – and the traditional methods of waist loom weaving and hand embroidery – alive. We are proud to support these women. And to offer a line of clothing inspired by empowerment.
Paulina Cantú, Founder and CEO
Born and raised in Mexico, I moved to France at the age of 22 to pursue my dream of working for one of the most famous fashion houses in the heart of Paris. A little over 10 years later, I am still living "la vie Parisienne." But I decided it was time to do something for my beloved Mexico. And to reconnect with my roots.
Adelita & Moi is a happy union of the love I have for two countries: my native land of Mexico and my adoptive home of France. As a dreamer, wife, mother of two, sister, friend, daughter and entrepreneur, I have come to appreciate the importance of supporting each other as women. Through Adelita & Moi, I wish to support the committed and hardworking women of my country. And to inspire the Adelita in every woman – to inspire strength and confidence, and the desire to empower one another.
